Cooked Food Grants Greater Stamina Boosts

As you sail through the world of Skull and Bones, you’ll collect various food items like coconuts, bananas, and other ingredients, either by harvesting or purchasing from vendors. While these raw items provide some Stamina recovery, cooking them at an outpost offers significantly greater benefits. For instance, coconuts restore 40% of your Stamina when cooked, compared to just 20% when eaten raw. Since coconuts are easy to gather, you can stockpile them and enjoy frequent Stamina boosts while out at sea.

Customize Item Shortcuts Using the Scroll Wheel

Early in the game, you'll unlock the item wheel, which lets you quickly select and use items during combat or exploration. To customize it, open the wheel, hover over a slot, and press Triangle (PS) or Y (Xbox) to edit. This allows you to assign useful items like food or Repair Kits for faster access. Additionally, you can sort your items into categories like Cooked Food or Raw Food, making it even quicker to select the right items without scrolling through everything manually.

Board Damaged Ships for Extra Rewards

Instead of sinking every damaged ship you come across, consider boarding them for additional rewards. Boarding allows you to gain more valuable loot, including Repair Kits (depending on the type of ship) and extra Silver. To board successfully, stay parallel to the ship and maintain a moderate distance. Hold L2 (PS) / Left Trigger (Xbox) and press Triangle (PS) / Y (Xbox) to board. Be sure you’re not bracing, as that will prevent you from boarding even if you’re close enough.

Upgrade Your Crowbar for Faster Shipwreck Looting

Shipwrecks scattered around the map contain valuable materials and Silver, but you’ll need a Crowbar to access them. You first acquire this tool during the tutorial, where you gather floating items. Upgrading your Crowbar should be a top priority, as it lets you open Shipwrecks more efficiently. Additionally, some Shipwrecks require a higher-level Crowbar, so it’s worth returning to a Pirate Den periodically to upgrade your tools.

Enable Auto Harvest for Easier Resource Gathering

When harvesting materials, you’ll encounter a mini-game that requires you to press R2 (PS) / Right Trigger (Xbox) within specific boundaries. If you successfully hit the smaller green and purple zones, your harvesting speed increases. However, if you want to skip the mini-game entirely, go to the Options menu and enable Auto Harvest. While this makes the process slower, it removes the risk of failure and guarantees a smooth, error-free harvest.

Sell Commodities in High Demand for Better Profits

As you gather various Commodities, be sure to check local traders or settlements for items that are in high demand. These goods will sell for a premium, allowing you to earn more Silver. Conversely, items marked with a red downward arrow indicate low demand and will sell for less, so try to offload them when possible and avoid wasting inventory space on low-value items.

Maximize Storage and Offload Excess Materials

Your ship can carry tons of cargo, but there are only so many available slots. Between repair kits, food, and ammunition, you’ll want to keep your inventory clear to make room for more valuable loot and resources. Visit Pirate Dens to offload excess materials into the Warehouse, or use Caches found at Outposts throughout the map. You can deposit items into these locations, sell off Commodities in high demand, and free up space for your next haul.
